Very Dissatisfactory and Disappointing Management

January 10, 2024 dinner at the Tarpon Springs, FL location. 7 of us for after 7 dinner.

One member of our group ordered fish. It came out cold. She sent it back to get reheated. It was taking very long.

One of the other diners in our party with us went back to check on it after one of the servers told us it was still being reheated and apologized. However, the manager/owner(?) told her it would be coming out soon and to please go sit back down, in a rather "unfriendly" manner. Still no dinner. The guest herself went to check on it and received the same excuse.

When the dinner was finally brought over, the rest of us were pretty much finished with our meals. She then told them that she didn't want it, period. I don't blame her. The servers were apologetic and seemed a bit embarrassed.

We had to assure them that it wasn't their fault. The only other disaster was mushy broccoli. Anyway, with that person running the place, we won't be back there. Sorry.

But he and the cook need to get their act together.

It was very busy, but...NO excuse! We've had far better even when places are extremely busy.

So your group member wanted her fish reheated and complains about it taking time to reheat. Reheating food takes time. Is your group really that stupid?

Not all food takes time to reheat. Have had food heated up quickly and it tasted fine.

Aside from that, we understood that it was busy, but it was getting ridiculous. We kept getting the run-around that it would be ready when it wasn't.

Sorry if I offended your favorite restaurant. It's just not up to quality for me, there are many better ones.

When you say someone "went back to check on it", what do you mean? They went back where? I hope you don't mean the kitchen because customers are NEVER allowed in restaurant kitchens, it's a legal liability.

Terrible service

Codys Original Roadhouse - Terrible service

Was seated waitress came to the table took drink order. Delivered the drinks then took our order after that we were ignored for the next hour while we waited for our food.

During this time she delivered a salad which she said she would mix and serve it that did not happen. I took care of the salad myself. Five tables were seated after us and got their food rather quickly. I stopped the waitress and asked about our order She told me the kitchen was making gravy.

Two other tables that came after us had the country fried steak and had gravy on them. When we got our order after other customers had eaten and already left my wifes chicken was over cooked and somewhat burnt my country fried steak was over cooked and hard the gravy was cold. I never got my mashed potatoes. I was visibly upset and confronted the waitress about the terrible situation.

She blamed the kitchen.

I am a retired CEO of the compass group a food service company with multi unit locations around the world. I have never been treated like this.

Threaten out loud by one of ur employees

10/02/2023 8 pm- So I went thereSo I went and visit a Codys in Bradenton fl last night and I walked in everything was fine and then I started hearing and Employee from back in the grill area start saying my name, out loud and threatening to kick my butt out loud the other employees were doing the same thing with me as they walked by my table and started threatening me. The manager is looking right at me because your Employee is threatening to do stuff to my food out loud to where all the gas can hear.

I got everything on video and ISo I went and visit a Codys in Bradington last night and I walked in everything was fine and then I started hearing and Employee from back in the grill area start saying my name, out loud and threatening to kick my butt out loud the other employees were doing the same thing with me as they walked by my table and started threatening me the managers looking right at me because your employee is threatening to do stuff to my food out loud to where all the gas can hear I got everything on video and I will be going to my lawyers office I felt I felt like my life is in danger and then you employ all the prison release girls that were getting up at me when I was walking out of your restaurant it should show on camera she spit on me one of your employees as I walked out the door I got everything on video and I will be. I will be making every step possible to get Tara Reed unemployed because I know you have cameras there and your manager did nothing sit there and let me get threatened. Finally the food came out and I could hear them back in the kitchen eat it if I dare and the manager laughed OK its all on camera and its all on my camera to. and its all because this girl does not like me OK I didnt even know she worked there.

She made the biggest scene and then threatening to do stuff to my food out loud and threatening to hit me in the back of my head and your manager did nothing but chuckle and its all on the camera.

Its all on my camera. I expect something somebody better call me ASAP.

Two calls to Cody's Customer Service and I still have not gotten anywhere. 1st call on Oct 19th, I was told a Mgr. would call me back. No call. Call Customer service, again on October 26th. Cust. Svc. said they would re-issue a Birthday coupon to me, because Tarpon Springs refused it on 10/18. No coupon was issued to the email I gave them, debbieleecastellini@***.com I am very frustrated with Cody's.

User's recommendation: The Birthday coupons will be rejected, if anyone at your table orders a Special, even though you znd another person orders from the regular menu! The coupon states you and one other person must order from the reg. menu, not everyone atvyour table.

Tarpon Springs Cody's refused my Birthday Coupon, because we had 4 guests and 2 were having the Special. My other friend and I were going to order from the regular menu. That's all the $10 off coupon states. You are supposed to get $10 off, with the purchase of 1 addtl' reg. entree.

I ordered the unlimited salad with the fajitas. I said I'll let you know when to put the heaters in I'm going to take those to go. She then came out within 1 minute you're in luck we have some fajitas. I said no way I open them up and I knew they were going to be ice cold. I said this is not acceptable then it took them 40 minutes to redo my other ones and mark the manager said I can't help you his exact words

Codys Original Roadhouse - Food Quality

My husband and I had dinner there a couple of weeks ago, I havent had time to write sooner. Both of our medium steaks were delivered to the table practically raw.

I mean most of the steaks were shiny, bloody raw, not rare but raw. We sent them back to be cooked further and they came back to the table a second time looking like someone had held a cigarette lighter over them for a minute, in other words, still raw. I couldnt eat mine. My husband had a few bites of the outside part as he was starving.

The manager, forgive me, I do not remember his name, maybe Elliot, the bald male who collects watches, stopped by our table and seeing we were not happy stated he would give us the managers discount.

This 3-dollar discount is a joke. I left my entire prime steak untouched (and did not take it home) and my husband had 3 bites, we had to go home and cook an actual dinner. This was beyond a disappointing experience and is something we will warn all our friends about.

It wouldnt have taken much more to make an effort to keep us as loyal customers. NA

My experience at Codys was extremely bad. The wait to be seated was twice as long as quoted. When we were seated no waiter or waitress came to our table for at least 10 minutes. We caught The person who seated us and a waitress did come and take our orders. We got waters quickly but no bar drinks. We caught a manager after 10 minutes. Then we got our bar drinks. Two managers came to our table to apologize. I told them that no amount of words could help at that point. They blamed the problems on lack of help. But several times after that we saw the same managers off to the side just talking.

Overcharged

Cody's Roadhouse, Crystal River, 3/28/22, 8:48 pm, ticket# 0348. Ordered food on this day and approximate time.

Waited well over an hour. During this time our waitress repeated several times, "your order will be ready in just a couple of minutes". We were going to dine there, but after the long wait, they were closing and we just wanted to go. So, we got our order to go, paid the bill, went home, and ate cold food.

A few days later, I checked my online charge account. The posted amount was higher than the receipt I signed. Thinking maybe it was the tip making it more. But I left an appropriate cash tip.

Today (without any contact from me), I saw an adjustment for the difference. Love the food, atmosphere, prices, and all, at this restaurant. Been here several times and will continue going here in the future. I was upset about the wait time and having to eat cold food.

But accepted it because of the fact they were very busy that day. What pushed me over, was the being overcharged on top of everything else.

Placed a takeout order on Sat 6/20 for a Sunday pickup @ 3:30...Received confirmation marked for Saturday pick up order...called and said they would change pickup date....Arrived on Sunday at 3:25 to pick up order...Told the pickup Server my name and order #... Black Friday and hardly anyone in the restaurant. Sat at the bar and 3 behind the bar conversing. After a few minutes Katelyn came and we ordered a drink. A long time went by and she came back and asked if we wanted to order dinner and I said not yet, could we please have some peanuts. She took an almost empty pail in front of another gave it to us. We then had to wave to get another drink. Then had to get their attention to order. All were having conversations amongst themselves. At this point Monica helped us. We ate and asked for the bill. My husband and I each had 2 rounds and Monica said I had 1 more drink than my husband and argued with me about it!

Great ribs but the service really sucked including the poor attitude of the manager on duty! Was at the Bradenton store in Fl on Cortez st. Just left its 740pm on Mon 11/23. Btw the servers name was Ashley with a trainee! The exception was the young blonde hostess nice personality and good meet and greet skills! I'm In Sales for many yrs and eat out frequently this restaurant needs to train their staff on Basic Customer Service 101 including the Young Mgr with the bad outward attitude! Unsanitary Environment & Unprofessional Management

Went to Cody's Roadhouse in Tarpon Springs as a Group Outing. Ordered their Salad as a Main course, as the Menu stated it had numerous items in it. What I got was a Server who came out with a bowl, sweating profusely, who began putting salad on everyone's plate from that bowl. All I got was Lettuce and part of a Tomato. He said I could have as much Salad as I like, but I declined due to the circumstances, which I felt was unsanitary and over-priced for what I received. I did write the Restaurant, but they did not reply. I then contacted a TV Station who sent me a copy of a Report, that this Restaurant had Code Violations, and instructed me to contact DBPR to re-inspect, which I did. At that point, the Manager from Cody's called me with excessive excuses, being rude, rather than professional. She was only concerned with her job, not solving problems, unlike most Restaurants who reimburse customers and try to make things right. Various websites are full of complaints against Cody's Roadhouse from other customers, so I am one of many who had problems. I never went back there, and never will!

Poor customer service skills

got coupon for birthday offer for 10.00 off 2 entrees. when the bill came they didn't want to honor it because we ordered off the early bird menu (coupon on table from the time we were seated). also entrée delivered to table about 2 minutes after the French onion soup meaning choice of cold entrée or cold soup as result. The manager also stated would not honor because we ordered off early bird. I told her waitress should have informed us of that when we ordered and that a menu given to all who enter in my opinion is not a "special offer" invalidating the "birthday gift" from cody's. No satisfaction. guess they feel they have enough business without ours. cannot find corp phone number and when you give feedback on their site there is no way to submit and you have to recommend them. what a joke.
